Landscape designs for the Aylesbury Estate regeneration were Highly Commended at a prestigious national awards event yesterday.

The Landscape Institute Awards, at The Brewery in East London, celebrates the best work of landscape professionals across the country.

HTA Design picked up the Highly Commended prize for their work on the Aylesbury, with judges describing the landscape masterplan as “a rigorous and innovative piece of work”.

The project was praised for having landscaping play a pivotal role in reshaping the Area Action Plan and recognising the importance of existing trees, mapping them onto the masterplan and designing roads and open spaces around them.

A report of the awards described this as “a distinguishing factor in the bid and subsequent planning applications, which has added value to proposals in economic, environmental and cultural terms”.
