Families and residents from across the Aylesbury joined for an afternoon of fun at our Big Lunch celebration.
The British weather has been at its unpredictable worst this summer, and last Sunday was no different, but the rain didn’t stop visitors enjoying themselves in gazebos at the corner of Inville Road and Beaconsfield Road.
And their perseverance paid off with an hour of glorious sunshine towards the end of the event.
Families enjoyed face painting, bubble blowing and giant Connect Four, while being entertained by young musician Angel, who played all genres from pop to classical on the steel pan.
Local produce was on display from Art in the Park, Pembroke House and Glengall Wharf Garden, who also created four spectacular salads including papaya, edible sweetpeas and flowers.
Nureen, from FMG Nutrition, was on hand to give out healthy recipe cards for strawberry mint lemonade, summer salad and Thai crispy beef, as well as filming a live Facebook video of the event.
Becky Williams, Resident Involvement Officer for Notting Hill Housing’s Aylesbury team, said: “Everyone had a fantastic time at the Big Lunch and it was a pleasure to meet so many residents in a fun environment.
"I also want to thank Creation Trust and their community team, whose support was invaluable, as well as all our partners who were involved.”
