Rent

(Intro)

Half of the new homes built in the regeneration area will be affordable and 75% of these affordable homes will be let at target rents for 250 years.

Detail of new homes for rent is coming soon. There'll be a mixture of home types and sizes on offer ranging from 1 bedroom flats to 5 bedroom houses.

When you move to a new Notting Hill Genesis rented home you’ll need to consider costs such as:

  • Service charges - These are costs associated with managing and maintaining the building and communal landscaping within blocks.
  • Utility Bills - Residents will usually be responsible for paying all utility bills such as electric, heating and water charges, directly to the supplier.
  • Council Tax - On new homes this may be higher than residents currently pay.

If you are an Aylesbury resident and have any queries about rehousing and moving to a new home, please contact your Southwark Council housing officer.

Target Rent is calculated according to a formula that relates to the market value of the property and earnings in the area.  To protect residents in high value areas, the formula is capped according to the number of bedrooms. The Target Rent increases each year by a formula based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Target Rents will be exclusive of service charges.

We don't yet have the information to be able to calculate target rents for the new Aylesbury homes, but you'll find current rent and service charge details for another nearby Notting Hill Genesis development here.
