Notting Hill Genesis
Notting Hill Genesis was chosen as Southwark Council's development partner for the Aylesbury regeneration in early 2014. We're a passionate and progressive housing association providing all kinds of homes and services for all kinds of people, from homeless people to first-time buyers.
The Notting Hill Genesis team working on the Aylesbury regeneration manages the design and construction of the new buildings and surrounding public space. We'll also be the new landlord for tenants and leaseholders moving in to the new homes we build. Throughout the lifetime of the project we’ll be working with local partners to create job and training opportunities and offer new ways for residents to get involved in the regeneration.
Southwark Council
Southwark Council is committed to delivering a fairer future for all in Southwark. We are working together with residents, businesses and partners to transform public services for the people of Southwark, take forward major programmes of regeneration and creating new opportunities for individuals and communities to realise their potential. The Aylesbury regeneration is at the forefront of those plans and working with our development partner Notting Hill Genesis we will deliver high quality and genuinely affordable new homes for local people. It will also bring employment and public realm improvements which will benefit Aylesbury residents, not just now, but for years to come whilst the regeneration moves ahead in phases.
We are still the landlord for existing residents on the estate and have an Aylesbury neighbourhood team who are there to support existing tenants and leaseholders over the next few years.
Creation Trust
Creation Trust is a charity dedicated to making sure that residents living on the Aylesbury estate receive the benefits of the regeneration, are supported and represented through the process. Our team is working closely with Notting Hill Genesis, Southwark Council and local groups to ensure that the regeneration benefits the community.
We're governed by a Board of Trustees of whom half are resident. This means that local people have real influence over the decisions that are being made about the area and the priorities of the Trust's work.
HTA Design
HTA Design LLP is a multi-disciplinary architecture and design practice specialising in regeneration. Our team is leading the design process and providing architecture, landscape design, planning, urban design, sustainability and graphic design and communications expertise to the partnership.
We don't just design buildings. We're interested in how people live and understanding how indoor and outdoor spaces work to make life more comfortable for residents.
Hawkins\Brown
Hawkins\Brown is a London based award winning architectural practice with a reputation as one of the leading design based architectural practices in the UK.
Our team welcomes collaboration and enjoys the creative excitement and friendship that comes from working with other architects like HTA and Mae. We enjoy projects that make us smile and have an interest in how craft, detail, wit and romance can influence design. As part of the Aylesbury regeneration project, we've created opportunities for art and craft within the buildings.
Above all, the greatest compliment to us would be the residents loving where they live.
Mæ
Mæ is a RIBA Chartered architecture practice passionate about finding new possibilities for how our built environment can contribute to life and society.
Mæ architects are working with HTA on the designs for the first development site. We've designed the extra care building near Westmoreland Square as well as helping to establish the design code for the wider masterplan.
We believe building homes that respect and reflect their immediate surroundings will vastly improve the public spaces that link them together.
WSP
WSP UK provides services to transform the built environment and restore the natural environment. On this project, while supporting the whole of the design team, we are responsible for the transport, utility and energy services.
We'll be providing the engineering expertise to ensure that the buildings are robust, the streets help people get around and designing a sustainable energy network that means heat and power is maintained throughout the regeneration.
Deloitte Real Estate
Our multi-disciplinary team will be providing planning advice, cost consultancy and project management services at both a strategic and technical level from within our Residential Construction Advisory, Valuation and Planning teams.
The team has extensive experience of working in the London borough of Southwark and know the local business and residential market well. We also bring our successful track record of working on regeneration schemes across London and a solid understanding of local planning policy to this project.
Social Life
The Social Life team has been commissioned to create a framework for measuring the success of the Aylesbury regeneration over the next 20 years.
We are putting together a benchmark survey of residents looking at their aspirations and hopes for the regeneration, alongside census and other national data sources and discussions with local agencies and stakeholders.
The resulting framework will enable residents to hold Notting Hill Genesis and Southwark Council to account for the progress of the project over the coming years.
Arcadis
Arcadis is working in partnership with Notting Hill Genesis to improve the quality of life, safely and sustainably, on the Aylesbury Estate. We’ll be providing advice on costs and project and management both at a strategic and technical level.
Our multi-disciplinary team has a wealth of experience delivering projects of this scale and complexity. By providing advice on costs and procurement at planning stage, we can help ensure that the development programme is both economically and environmentally viable for years to come.
