This past year has seen solid foundations for the future of the regeneration being put into place. Following the successful planning applications for the First Development Site and the Outline Masterplan, we have been drawing up detailed proposals for Plot 18 which will deliver a new neighbourhood square surrounded by a new state of the art health centre, library, early years nursery and retail facilities.
Regeneration is about more than new homes, streets and open spaces, it’s also about increasing well-being and opportunities for local people. Notting Hill Housing has been working with local residents and stakeholders to ensure that they can already begin to benefit from the redevelopment that will soon take place in their neighbourhood.
The community investment team launched the Aylesbury community grants programme, working bursaries and the Achieve programme for young people. We have pitched up our stalls at street festivals, joined in with community events and taken part in lively discussions at local debates. It’s still early days, but it feels like we’re starting to become part of the neighbourhood.
