The Walworth Society is looking for residents to share their stories and help tell the history of the Aylesbury estate for a play at the new Southwark Playhouse.

Using your stories, along with research by local history volunteers, the play will bring to life the Aylesbury and wider Walworth's history from across the decades. The project, funded by Notting Hill Genesis' Aylesbury Community Grant, will also include two animated history tours of the estate.

Project director John Whelan said: "The Aylesbury has such an amazing story to tell of the past and also a fantastic story for the future! We would love to hear your stories about living on the estate so that you can help us bring its history to life. Quite often people think that their story is not interesting but people love to find out the real histories of a community. It will be amazing to discuss your memories of moving in, your families, friendships and the fun times you have had on the estate. Your history will be weaved into the play at the new Southwark Playhouse and will help to animate our tours of the Aylesbury. I look forward to hearing all of your stories!"

If you have a story to share please email John Whelan on whelanjohnwalworth@gmail.com.
