In light of coronavirus (COVID-19), we have reviewed our services and have put plans in place to ensure that our most critical services can continue. Please see below for the latest updates and current opportunities.

Financial support

We are now offering the following bursaries to help support Aylesbury and Southwark residents:

1.)    Hardship Bursary In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic we have created a new bursary to help residents who urgently need support with their everyday needs. This includes household essentials such as food, groceries, electric or gas top-ups. The maximum amount is £50 per household.

2.)     Working Communities Bursary.  These are aimed at residents who are looking for financial help to access a job or gain a new qualification. Examples include: fees to attend a training course (e.g. online courses), or gain a badge or qualification, travel expenses to support a work placement, purchasing job-relevant equipment or attire. The maximum value is £250.

Activities for Young People

We are continuing to offer one-to-one support for young people via the web, apps and through telephone support. This service is for Southwark residents (aged 12 to 25) who are looking for support with planning their future. For some this might mean finding a job or moving to a new career with others may just be seeking advice, wanting to gain new skills or perhaps need help with a problem. This service is free and there is no need to be referred or fill in any forms.

We are also supporting local groups to move their content and courses online so that there are positive activities to keep young people active and entertained. Our latest addition is an online art class for 8 to 16 year olds. Classes are being updated regularly. To find out more contact Chris Cotton. (Community Connector –Young People):
